Guide
How It Works
SaccoShares connects buyers and sellers of SACCO shares. We do not process the transfer itself — that happens through your SACCO, under its own rules. Here is the full path for both sides.
Buying shares
- 1
Search by SACCO
Use the Buy tab on the homepage to select the exact SACCO you're interested in. Listings only show for the SACCO you pick.
- 2
Review the listing
Check the share count, total asking price, county, and any seller notes. Open the linked SACCO profile to review its published financials.
- 3
Send a private inquiry
Leave a phone number or email. The seller is notified and contacts you directly — your contact details are never shown publicly.
- 4
Verify before you commit
Contact the SACCO to confirm the seller's share balance and membership status. Do this before agreeing on anything or sending money.
- 5
Transfer through the SACCO
The actual share transfer is completed by the SACCO under its own by-laws — typically a transfer form, board or committee approval, and updated membership records. SaccoShares is not part of this step.
Selling shares
- 1
List your shares
Choose your SACCO, enter the share count, county, and your asking price. Listing is free.
- 2
Get discovered
Your listing appears to buyers searching that SACCO. A free trial period keeps it visible from day one.
- 3
Receive inquiries
Interested buyers send a private inquiry with their contact details so you can follow up.
- 4
Subscribe to stay visible
After the trial, a small M-Pesa payment keeps your listing active and unlocks full buyer contact details.
- 5
Complete the transfer
Agree terms with the buyer, then process the transfer through your SACCO the same way you would off-platform.
